Why isn't my Mac earning?
A few things to check, in order: (1) you're signed in (sidebar status footer shows your email), (2) the menu-bar status dot is green (not grey), (3) your Mac is plugged in and idle — we never run on battery, and we pause within seconds of you touching the keyboard. If all three look right, open Help → Health Check inside the app; it walks the same path automatically.
When do payouts arrive?
Every Friday, for the work your Mac did the previous Mon–Sun. Payouts land in the bank account configured under Settings → Account. First payout requires the bank account to be verified by Stripe — usually 1–2 business days after you add it. Billing goes live with our next release; until then, accrued earnings show as "pending".
My Mac got warm and paused — is that bad?
No, that's by design. The app pauses the moment your Mac crosses Apple's "serious" or "critical" thermal threshold and resumes when it's back to "nominal". Your Mac is never held in a hot state to keep earning.
Can I cap when it runs?
Yes. Settings → Quiet Hours lets you blacklist a time window. Campus Mode pauses the app while you're on certain Wi-Fi networks (handy if your employer or campus disallows background workloads).
What about my home network or firewall?
The app needs outbound HTTPS to commoncompute.ai and api.commoncompute.ai on port 443. No inbound ports, no listening sockets. If you're behind a strict captive portal or corporate proxy, sign-in will fail with a network error — try a different network to confirm.
